(just look at the date today...)

Time really flies and its the end of Year3 semester 1, it was 1 hell of a semester with lots of thing happening within the span of 6months. I would say this semester was one of the smooth sailing semester I've had as I've done what I've set myself to complete. Improve my GPA, get more involved in sports, and spend time with friends!. A brief run through of what happened in this semester:

First it was the Japan trip that I went with Zoee and Joyce before the start of this semester, it was really an experience that I would remember, the scenery, the shopping, the food, the fun that we had was superb and its really an energy booster for me and to prepare myself for the start of year3.

Next, was the start of the semester and my resolution for that semester was to work hard pull and my grades up and than FYP came, and it took out a portion of my time and we really had to source for people to help us complete our dental survey and we realise that the year ones are the easiest to approach probably due to their newbie-ness to the school.(evil laughter)

Although the FYP was kind of a burden to me and I had to change class everyday but I'm still motivated to go to school and to perform in class, because I had 4 great modules that I'm really interested in. After a year of PURE science I've decided that I had enough of science and I chose the enterprise track of biotech and took accounting as my elective. If I were to rank the modules according to my interest, biomaterials would be the last partially due to the faci which was very strict towards us(i know that she wants us to excel) however we have to undergo 16 lessons of drilling and non-stop questioning was the reason that i rank this module last. Next moving up the ranks would be lab management, where I had close friends in the class and the science content in this module was close to ZERO! Next was biomarketing, as I foresee myself going into this field in the future and this is were my interest lies in and to top it off the facilitator did a really good job in teaching as well as ensuring every student in the class understands. Accounting was the module I liked the best because ever since secondary school I've developed great interest in accounting and being able to take accounting again was truly a motivation for me to go school. It gives me a variation in the things that I've studied (its no longer science everyday!) and the people were great as well as the faci(which look like and behave like moshi!) where everyone of us treat her as a friend instead of a faci.

That is briefly what happened during the semester, and something worth mentioning would be Mich's birthday, its a day where most of the clique where present and a day where we get together and catch up on the things that happened.

And something to look forward too, for the VERY near future it would be the Sentosa trip 2 days from now, and for the near future it would be the Nike 10K Human Race that I would be participating in, and for the not so near future it would be the LAST semester that I have in RP that would conclude my 3 years in RP.

BYE BYE BLOG~
Clean you up someother time:)
Signing off....

Happenings...

HAPPY LEAP DAY!
29th FEB 2008

Hello blogggg~ its cleaning up time!! *removing all the cobwebs*

Wow... so much had happened since my last post...
reflecting on the ups and downs of things,
Its a new year now, hopefully better things are coming up
face it instead of avoiding it,
but am i able to face it like i used to?
to hell with all the emo stuff!
still prefer my usual self, with the bo-chap attitude

Another thing i wana complain about, FYP!
its seriously crap! not related to what i want in the future! waste of time! 45mins of travelling time to sch, juz for 30mins of meeting and than 45mins of travelling back home... What The F***!?
However... I've to be responsible, shouldnt leave my teammates alone juz because i didnt like fyp, or else i would be dragging the whole team down. SO...... Endure! And i believe that the start off point of each and everyone of us was to make this chalet a success, which cause some minor conflicts in the process of organizing this chalet. not pinpointing at any one of the incident, but in general, I believe everything can be solved if you have the intention of solving it.

--> Forgive and forget(its easier said than done), however after sometime when you look back at all these incidents you'll juz find it stupid.

Important note: Dont give a damn and just enjoy life!

Bye bloggggg~ spring cleaning again when i'm free....

Christmas

Time flies, and its Christmas in less than 2hrs. So... zoee decided to invite us over to her house for dinner! and we had steamboat over at her house. Other than steamboat we had bbq/"zap zap" or wadever you called it, and had lots of fun while cooking our food, not to mention that the food was delicious!! of cuz credits goes to zoee, mj and sean for preparing the food. while the rest of us were playing with rasQ, she was so active and we realise that tc was scare of her! Its a pity that not everyone turned up, nevertheless it was a fun gathering.

Another semester in RP...

HELLO BLOG~

Its time to post some crap on my blog...

Its only 3 weeks of school and I'm already dreading it already, I dunno why I'm dreading it, classes are fun, faci are alright, lessons are interesting (referring to consumer psychology only). Initally I hated school because of the classes I had to go, 4 different classes for 5 days was really unbearable, have to adapt to each of the class, but it turn out to be fun! meeting new people in every class and having fun in every class. Well, i guess the main culprit would be Professional Profiling, I've been squeezing my brain juices for the past few weeks to come out with a 2000 word report and I would say, so far so good, probably need some touching up.

Nevertheless throughout this few weeks there are lots of fun and memorable things to take note off, firstly I was prank-ed badly on the first day of school and I did things that I would never do in my life!

Next would be Zoee's birthday! Went to sentosa to celebrate zoee's birthday, initially we were worried that zoee didnt wana go, but we manage to drag her there! (credits to Junli). We mess up the hotel and prank-ed zoee! that was when I realise that prank-ing people was fun! Playing table-tennis and dota in the middle of the night, see-ing how zoee act as someone getting fits and asking for water(LOL), make a nuisance in the hotel, watching the video that Mich made and rush to school early next morning was indeed memorable. BUT staying over at sentosa and going to school the next day was really a killer! Nevertheless the trip was fun and I experience alot during the trip, their different culture and the different types of food they had.

I've to agree that the scenary in Taiwan is superb, took lots of pics, kind of envy that SG dosent have that kind of view.

Those are the food we got in Shilin night market, food in taiwan was great but theres 1 thing I wanna complain! Theres no chilli sauce!! even in fastfood like Mac and KFC they dont offer chilli sauce. Had a hard time finishing my food without chilli.

Went to 2 of their theme parks in taiwan, their rides were fantastic, and heres a picture of the ride that me and yu ren didnt dare to take, its a roller coaster with a 90degree drop, joyce and moshi insisted that we have to take the ride together, and got dragged up there. After the ride we felt it wasnt as scary as we thought it was, so looks can be deceiving! HAHAS.

Shopping, taiwan do have a fair amount of places to shop, went to xiao zhu's shop(if you know who he is) selling limited edition clothes design by himself, part of the shop was to display his collection of nike shoes, saw some that was really really nice but unfortunately all of his collection are not for sale and you cant even take photos! HongKong is definitely better, its cheaper and lots of shoping malls to shop, did most of my shopping in taiwan and I regretted it! the clothes in HongKong are alot cheaper. And joyce influenced us to get clothes armani exchange since its cheaper in HK and in the end she didnt buy!! otherwise it'll be the armani family.. hahas! Lastly heres our group photo in taiwan posing infront of a clay machine trying to make a vase.

Love or Infatuation?

Found an article on the net differentiating between what is love and infatuation, pardon me for the wall of text, read it if you're bored cuz I find some of the definitions inside are quite true.

Are you really in love? Or do you think that you are in love? There is a big difference between Love and infatuation.

Some people can’t tell the difference, thinking they are in love but really it is a deep infatuation. Infatuation is instant desire - one set of glands calling to another. Love is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows, one day at a time. Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity. You are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy.

There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream. Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real. It gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved.

You are warmed by their presence, even when they are away. Miles do not separate you. You have so many wonderful little films in your head that you keep replaying.

But near or far, you know they are yours, and you can wait. Infatuation says, “We must get married right away. I can’t risk losing them.” Love says, “Be patient. Don’t panic. Plan your future with confidence.” Infatuation has an element of sexual excitement. Whenever you are together, you hope it will end in intimacy.

Love is not based on sex. It is the maturation of friendship, which makes sex so much sweeter. You must be friends before you can be lovers. Infatuation lacks confidence. When they’re away, you wonder if they’re cheating. Sometimes, you check.

Love means trust. You are calm, secure and unthreatened. They feel your trust, and it makes them even more trustworthy. Infatuation might lead you to do things you will regret, but love never steers you in the wrong direction.

Love is an upper. It makes you feel whole. It completes the circle. It fills the empty space in your heart.

Love is elevating. It lifts you up. It makes you look up. It makes you think up.

It makes you a better person than you were before. If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things you don’t have.

If there is no love in your life, whatever else there is has a lot less meaning. The secret of our being is not only to live but to have something to live for.Infatuation is a feeling; real love involves a commitment also. Infatuation is just love of emotion. Real love, though, is love of devotion.

Only the emotions are affected in infatuation, but in real love both the emotions and the will are involved. Next, a person “fall into” infatuation, but “grows into” real love. Guys, have you ever seen a girl who was so beautiful that you thought you’d faint? This is infatuation! It is based totally on physical attraction. Often you don’t know much in-depth about the person you so-called love. Thus, infatuation is mostly biological. Also remember, never tell a girl you love her, unless you are willing to marry her.

Then, infatuation is basically selfish where real love is basically selfless.Infatuation is more interested in satisfying yourself and the feeling than it is in the other person. Real love is primarily interested in the other person. It seeks to give instead of get.. Love unselfishly seeks the highest good for the other person. Lastly, infatuation is weakened by time and separation where real love is strengthened by time and separation.

This does not mean that there will be no pain in separation. On the contrary, there is great pain in separation ifyou are truly in love. Love is patient. The word translated “patient” means to wait patiently for the fulfillment of expectations.

When you have difficulty dating this girl and she does not want to come out, if you truly love her, you will not complain and blame her, you must look at the situation from her point of view. Maybe she is having some problems which prevented her from coming out. You must react to it with patience and understanding.

Next, have you ever met someone you liked so much that you wanted to push the relationship and make it progress faster?

Sure you have! Love, however, is willing to give a relationship time to grow at a natural pace.

It does not push but is willing to wait for the relationship to grow at a rate that is satisfactory to both parties.

Love is Kind Love seeks to encourage and build up others. It respects the feelings and emotions of others.

It finds its greatest satisfaction in making others happy.

School Holidays!!

Well, its time for a break after a semester of science it almost kill me with all the science being taught in class hopefully next sem would be alot better. There were ups and downs throughout this semester with me struggling with the stuff being taught in class and getting used to it later on. However tough the lesson was the class was still as lame, jokers in the class were making all kinds of lame jokes. esp racist jokes!

PP!! its time to do something about it. According to RP PP is a form of replacement for our job attachments, I WOULD RATHER HAVE JOB ATTACHMENTS! I guess PP is an easy way out for job attachments where you have to work for months in a company doing much more stuff than what we are currently doing for our PP and experiencing alot more, which I guess could be complete within weeks.

Last post before I go for the Taiwan trip, shopping list from anyone of you? A pity Joshua couldnt join us, well nevermind we can always photoshop those photos to put you inside. Hopefully after the trip I would be able to "chiong" my PP and complete it in time(cross fingers).

RP Biathlon

The last few weeks of school was rather monotonous, since UTs are all over theres completely no motivation to listen in class and lesson was rather boring. The only thing that excites me and motivates me to go to school would be to get a daily grade for the module while playing games! The moment I step into class it would be time for games as the whole class was already in holiday mood, people watching movies, listening to songs and no one bother to listen to the faci. The only time I stop would be during breakfast, because I'm hungwy!! had to fill my stomach if not it'll be growling and I cant "concentrate" in class. However there are afew hardworking ones despite the UTs are over they approach the problem seriously and did lots of research, at times I do feel guilty as I'm freeloading off them especially during 3rd meeting, they were the ones that did the slides while the rest of us were claiming credit from it. Credits to them, if not there wont be any presentation during 3rd meeting as most of the class were slacking throughout the day.

Participated in the RP biathlon with Norman under the team relay category, I had to swim 300m while Norman runs 1.5km was rather nervous as there were lots of good swimmers and runners in RP thus it would be very competitive. Before the event we joke about securing the last place in the event and hopefully be able to complete the whole course within 15mins. Fortunately, we're able to compelete in 13mins++ and came in 10th out for the 25 participating teams, was relieve that we were atleast in the top 50%.

Movies?

Hmm... ran out of crap to crap about so I shall just blog about the 2 movies that I've watched recently. Its the first time watching 2 movies in a row, 1 after another and I've to agree that its tiring.

The Simpsons
I hated simpsons since I was young and I remember that everytime if theres simpsons showing on the TV I would definintely switch the channel. I dont know why but I hated simpsons alot, just dont like those yellow figures walking around, talking crap. But the movie change my perception towards the show, and I realise that I missed out lots fun amd kind of regretted it.

What I liked about the show, they included some new ways to catch the audience's attention, like the part where it says "to be continued" everyone in the cinema was like "HUH" and after that it says "immediately" that was like some small trick the movie director played on us, giving us a shock. Another thing I find it interesting was the small little advertisements showed during the show, its the first time I see advertisments appearing during the movie. Ultimately it was their joke and lamness that interest me the most.

What I disliked about the show, there elements of other movies being included in the show like the "Harry Potter" pig, "house of the dead" environment, etc. It'll be better if they come out with a story without any elements of other shows in it.

Afterall I find the movie was great and its been sometime a comedy with such quality appeared on the theatre.

Secret
Its the second movie that I've watched, being Jay Chou's first directed film I'm eager to know how the film turn out to be and did Jay Chou's acting improve as compare to the movie "curse of the golden flower" where I felt that his acting really *ahem*. As it was a love story, I wanted to know what was the storyline about and the process they went through before they got together as I believe that every love story is unique.

What I liked about the show, Jay Chou's acting did improve and the movie was nice, in the sense that the flow was smooth and the ending of the movie relates back to the happenings in the movie. The paino scene in the movie was nice and romantic and they could play the paino so well which was an eye opener to me.

What I disliked about the show, Theres too much animation used in the movie, would be better if animation wasn't used in the show, the movie would feel more natural and real.

Its a sweet and romantic movie and the music used perfectly suits the movie, with an unexpected twist in the movie really makes the movie interesting and you couldn't wait to find out whats the secret was and the ending of the movie. Its a movie that I dont mind watching the second time, and I mean it.

Alright, thats all for now, manage to kill my boredom successfully.

Memories in RP...

Thought of the week

Its been nearly 1 and a half year in RP, started off with a negative mindset about RP being labelled as Retarded Poly by my secondary school friends, having to travel so far everyday to get to school was really tiring, thus I hated sch.... But looking back at it now I think I made a right choice in coming to RP, had 3 fabulous class and met lots of great people.

Year 1 Sem 1
W26A
Its the first class I was in and usually you bond really well with your first class because they are your first group of friends, had lunch as a class everyday and the thought of our lift journeys by occupying the whole lift with our back facing the exit of the lift and the shocking expression of other students was really memorable. We gave everyone in the class a nickname so that we could call them by their nickname and have it printed on our class t-shirt. We had our first class outing and it was a pity I couldnt make it because of the gaming event that was held over the weekends.

Year 1 Sem 2
W24H
Having the experience of being so bonded as a class during Sem1 I expect this class to be the same, but during breakouts everyone went off to meet their own friends. Only at about the 5th or 6th week that half of the class we went down for breakfast together. Class was still as fun because of the few jokers we had in class. . 1 memorable thing was during the 2nd day of the semester it was culture lesson, and these 2 jokers in my team was debating over which is better north or south indian, and this girl joined the group she looked soo fierce and cool, I was like "wow" how do i work with her. As the week goes by I realise that she wasn't that fierce afterall, infact she was LAME... hahas.. Through this class I met some great people and got to know their friends as well, and everyone of them had their fair share of lameness.

Year 2 Sem 1
E35Q
Felt like a Year 1 who just got into RP, didn't know anyone from the class and it was the first time I step into the E block and I felt like a complete newbie to the surrounding. It was really coincidence that 1 of my classmate was from the same primary as me while the another one was from my secondary school. I guess our class got to know each other better through some of the "bad activites" that we did together, we gambled in class, boycott our microbio faci for being too unreasonable and we transferred "transformers" into Utba's harddisk. Just 1 phrase to describe this class, A crazy class with a crazy facilitator name francis.

Kinship>Friendship>Love

While waiting for my Harry Potter book to be release at 7.01am so that I could rush down to the nearest Popular bookstore to collect it. So in the meantime I'm blogging to kill time!

These are the 3 main relationship everyone would have in life, kinship, friendship, and love relationship.

Kinship>Friendship>Love

This the equation that I came out for myself, kinship is greater than friendship while friendship is greater than love.

Kinship being the most important relationship in my life, without your parents/relatives I dont think I am who am I today. I believe every parents love their child the most but its their method of expressing it making them different. They wold always stand on your side no matter what happens, even if they know you're at fault they would try everything to salvage it. Be filial to them while you, and not to regret while they're gone.

Next would be friendship, as close friends are hard to come by they would be there to enjoy the fun and laughter with you and also they are the ones who stand by you when you're down, by sharing problems with them their only objective would be, to go all out trying to come out with the best solution for you. At times quarreling do occur its just a process where you are going through to know your close friends better, so treasure them.

Everyone needs a companion so this is where love steps in. Although its sweet when you're in love but striking a balance in life would be much much harder as you've more responsibilities and more thing to look out for. I would say being devoted in a 1 sided love is foolish while being devoted in a 2sided love is happiness.

These relationships are interchangeably depending on your priorities in life and what you're looking for in life. Afterall these are just my 2cents worth of thoughts.

Commitment

What is commitment to you?

Thats the definition of it from encarta.

responsibility: something that takes up time or energy, especially an obligation
loyalty: devotion or dedication, for example, to a cause, person or relationship
Microsoft® Encarta® Reference Library 2005. © 1993-2004 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

While for me commitment can be a friend or foe, as committing into something you like its really enjoyable, you enjoy the process thoroughly and the thought of giving up never crossed your mind. Take the example of a sports you are interested in, training so hard, putting in all your time and effort into it hoping that you could excel in it, and no matter how tough it could be you wouldnt give up. In situation like this commitment exist without you knowing because you enjoy the process of it.

On the other hand committing into something you dread, the thought of giving up is always there and it all boils down to determination to overcome it. Committing into something you hate could be a burden to you as well, being refrain from all the freedom you have to commit into something you had no interest in. People would tend to give up because they dont want to lose their freedom or have other priorities in life which is more important. Afterall commitment in this situation would really depend on how strong your self-discipline is.

Thats my definition of commitment, so whats yours? Thats all for my crappology.

Thats my thought of the day, early in the morning...

My baby post!

16th July 2007 marks the birth of this blog..

Hmm.. welcome readers let me introduce my blog to you, its mainly about "crappology" here, where I'll be crapping, thats what RP taught us so I'm merely applying what I've learnt. As for what to include for my first post, I'm still cracking my brain on it.. (crapping isnt easy at all!)

Been quite free lately, thats 1 of the reasons why I created this blog, to kill time! Rotting throughout the weekends sleeping and sleeping, guess its time to wake up and make myself useful. Recently my class have been talking about this game WoW(World of Warcraft) which I used to play and stopped because its too addictive and time consuming where you would be stucked at home all day, getting some acheivements virtually isnt woth it at all. With the NYDC quote "get a life" in mind I'm having 2nd thoughts on whether should I give in to the temptation. Haha.. thats life you have to sacriface something for another.

Alright thats all for my thought of the day.
